Division of Cardiology
The Division of Pediatric Cardiology offers diagnostic and therapeutic services for the fetus, for infants, children and young adults with cardiovascular disease. Services include clinical diagnosis, electrocardiogram interpretation, non-invasive echocardiography studies, cardiac catheterization and exercise testing. Services are provided to outpatients in Albuquerque and at outreach clinics in Las Cruces and Gallup. In addition, educational seminars are provided to physicians and other healthcare professionals statewide.
The UNM Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery is one of the premier centers for pediatric cardiovascular surgery due to its outstanding team of surgeons, its innovative surgical approaches, and its delivery of compassionate and patient-centered care. In our program, Dr. Ricci states, the child always comes first. Our goal is to deliver the best possible care by keeping the family as engaged as possible in the treatment and healing process (family-centered care).
