Neonatology

Resources for Residents in the Division of Neonatology

Welcome to the University of New Mexico Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Here are some resources you will find useful during your time with us:

The UNM Division of Neonatology SharePoint is where you will find the latest version of the Division of Neonatology Orientation Handbook, the NICU Survival Handbook, NICU Guidelines, as well as multiple core lectures. You should have received an email with instructions on how to login, etc. Also on this site are some links to other websites that you may find helpful.

Hot Topics
Neonatology Hot Topics occur every 3rd Tuesday of the month from 1-3 PM in the Barbara & Bill Richardson Pavilion in the 1st Floor Conference Room or the Tully Room located on the 6th floor. For information regarding this meeting, please contact the Division of Neonatology at (505) 272-0180. CMEs are provided at no cost with light snacks of cookies and coffee. Please join us for these dynamic lectures!

Journal Club
The division of Neonatology meets monthly to critically evaluate recent articles in scientific literature that are directly related to the area of Neonatology. This allows discussion of the appropriateness of the research design, the statistics employed, the appropriateness of the controls that were used, etc. There will be a discussion of how useful the results are and if these results might lead to new research or to change current practice. The Neonatology groups from both Presbyterian and Lovelace are always welcome to attend.

If you have any difficulties or questions, please let me know. We hope you find them helpful and that you enjoy your rotation with us!
