Compassionate, evidence-based care for critically ill newborns

The Division of Neonatology is composed of an integrated team of specialists that provide compassionate, evidence-based care for critically ill newborns from around the great state of New Mexico and neighboring states.  The state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at UNM encompasses 36 level IV beds, and 27 level II beds.

Since its inception in 1971, the NICU at UNM's Children's Hospital has been committed to providing the best care newborns and their families can have.

We offer family-centered care for our patients with the most advanced technologies for both diagnoses and treatment, including:
